Papaloko4Kids in Haiti

Papaloko4Kids Mission to Haiti, January 2011.

One year after the earthquake the Haitian people are still in dire need of help. We arrived in Haiti with the mission to bring aid to the people of the many tent cities scattered throughout the devastated neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince and to locate a site for the new Papaloko4Kids Children Center.

Nothing could have prepared us for the magnitude of the tragedies still unfolding in Haiti. Pictures cannot describe the suffering and misery the Haitian people are faced with every day.

But Hatians are resilient and, despite all the adversities, positive and hopeful. There is so much we can do to help and we ask you to join in in our efforts.  Contact us for more details on donations (materials and monetary) and volunteering opportunities.

Thank you so much for all the support!!!!!!

Since the devastating earthquake hit the country on January 11, 2010, Papaloko4Kids has been actively involved in the Haiti relief efforts in several ways.

A collection point for donations of clothes, non-perishable food, medical supplies, water, etc. was set up on January 12, immediately after the quake, at the Papaloko4Kids center in Miami (7646 Biscayne Blvd.). Thanks to the generosity of the community, we were able to ship to Haiti a container of materials delivered directly to our Haitian representatives, Miss Marie Nicole Devalcin and Father Samuel Celicou, who distributed them to the people in need. The shipping was possible through the generosity of a local Miami shipping company who transported the cargo free of charge. For those who are interested, we are still collecting donations and will continue the shipments to Haiti as long as needed. For more information, contact us at

This is just one aspect of the long term commitment of Papaloko4Kids in Haiti, which started long before the earthquake hit the region. Indeed, the fact that Papaloko4Kids already had representatives carrying out the mission of the organization in Haiti allowed us to be able to rely on our network in place before the disaster to provide assistance.

Our efforts in Haiti are coordinated by Miss Marie Nicole Devalcin and Father Samuel Celicou.

In Bon Repos, a village located in La Plaine du Cul de Sac, south of Port-au-Prince, an area heavily affected by the quake and barely reached by the major international organizations, Marie has been using Papaloko4Kids funds, collected through the generosity of the community here in the United States, to provide meals to the many displaced children in the area with the help of local volunteers.

Father Samuel Celicou is operating in Petite Place Cazeau, west of Port-au-Prince. The long term goal in this town is to build an elementary school, after the quake completely destroyed the existing one. To address the immediate needs of the community after the quake, Father Samuel has also been using Papaloko4Kids funds to provide meals to children and families.

These efforts require the selfless contribution of all of us.

Help us help the children of Haiti by donating to the organization. Every little amount counts!!!
